Luxury Brands to arrive in Shanghai before the Expo 2010

Tens of world luxury brands will arrive at Shanghai ahead of the Shanghai Expo 2010, among which some are world level flagship stores making their debut arrival on the mainland. Louis Vuitton will open their biggest flagship store in China at Lippo Plaza. Giorgio Armani, Tiffany, Cartier, Coach and Apple flagship stores will settle at Hong Kong Plaza. Chanel’s concept store has opened at Peninsula Hotel and more brands including Chaumet, Chopard, Piaget and Prada will be opening soon. Moreover, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Prada will open stores at the International Finance Center at Lujiazui.

Example Coach :

Coach, announced the opening of its first global flagship store in Mainland China, set for April 2010. The store will be located on the prestigious Huai Hai Middle Road near Song Shan Road, which is quickly emerging as the center of luxury retailing in Shanghai. In conjunction with the opening, Coach will also launch a celebrity charity initiative titled Star Totes, as well as debut a special collection of exclusive, hand-numbered pieces.

The 7,000 square foot store (650 square meters) has been designed by the Coach Architecture Group and features elements created exclusively for this flagship. Coach’s Horse and Carriage logo, which highlights the brand’s craftsmanship and heritage, as well as a series of illuminated panels of varying opacities and patterns, will feature prominently on the façade. The two-level retail environment represents the latest in the brand’s interior design evolution with the addition of two new features: a women’s accessory area and a space devoted exclusively to the newly expanded Coach men’s collection.
