Kenzo, which in Japanese means virtuous, worthy, and good is an accurate name for this brand.

This Japanese designer, Kenzo Takada was born in Japan and has lived in Paris since 1965 giving his designs the perfect balance between Japanese sensibility and European elegance.

His trademark incorporates elements of the Japanese traditional dress, the Kimono, into his modern designs and borrowing other elements from cultures around the world. Kenzo has been assimilating this global perspective on fashion into his designs for years and encouraged the rest of the fashion world to look beyond Europe for inspiration.

His various collections have borrowed from cultures across the globe; Chinese tunics and wrappings combined with Portuguese purses, heavy Scandinavian sweaters paired with Mexican style skirts, and he looked to India for a modified Nehru suit. His radical view of multiculturalism in fashion has rightly bumped him into the forefront and cutting edge of fashion. He has the ability to mix these cultures flawlessly with great critical acclaim.

You will find Kenzo being touted as a favorite by fashion critics in magazines like Vogue, Elle, and Harpers Bazaar.
