Masks

Whitening masks are great for night time use before applying night time creams.  However, because most masks aren’t to be used everyday, it is best to use these in addition to a whitening serum in your whitening routine.  Masks, like the serum are beneficial to brightening the entire face.  They come in many different forms, so when choosing a mask consider your skin type, especially if you have dry to sensitive skin.

Tissue Masks and Gels

Cotton tissue masks are soaked with the whitening liquid and left on the skin between 10-15 minutes to allow for absorption and correcting, after removing the mask the remaining liquid is usually massaged into the skin.  Whitening gel masks are applied directly to the skin and left on for 10-15 minutes as well and then peeled off after they have dried onto the skin.  Typically these masks are used 2-3 times a week.  The tissue liquid masks and gels are good options for combination oily skin types; although some indicate they are also suitable for dry skin types as well.

Cream and Mud Masks 

Cream based and mud whitening masks are intended for those who have drier skin types and have a much thicker consistency than tissue masks and gels.  They include moisturizing agents in addition to whitening agents to brighten your skin without leaving it dried out.  Some can be massaged into the skin with the remaining wiped off or removed from the face with a damp cloth.
